Om G'day

Om Shanti & G'day,
Well here I am in sunny India, about 3 weeks into my trip and have got to quite a few places already.
I arrived the 11th February with a somewhat superficial eye injury..........(but there was blood) to be picked up from Trivandrum by Bosco's father. His family are as lovely as he is and I was made to feel right at home. I was taught how to eat with one hand, taken to buy a Salwar Kameez but ended up with 2 and some yoga gear.
Saturday we went to Moongode a small village where Bosco's Mum is from as they were celebrating the Church's patron saint, Saint Sebastian. Meera and I went onto Varkala, a sea side town but not over run by tourists. The sea there is called Papanashini and according to legend if you bathe in it you will be absolved of all sins of the boday & soul. I however on went for a a paddle............ oh well. We later retuyrned to Mongode for the procession, it was fantastic noisy and bright.
Sunday was time to run away and join the Ashram and my first time to try the excitement and adventure that is known as an Indian Bus trip. There was meant to be a bus directly to where I needed to go but that broke down so had to take a detour via Kattakkada. It was very messy and confusing but met a great couple from Canada (Lisa & Brad) who know live in Sydney also heading for the Ashram...........
Thats all for the minute (next edition will include Observations of an Ashram, Things I learnt today and some photoes but now its time to think about my next beer.
Om Shanti
Tamla
